Principal & Co-Founder
Poornima has significant experience in complex M&A transactions. She worked with UBS in New York, advising global chemical companies, including Sunoco on selling its Polypropylene business to Braskem for a $350mm deal.
Poornima has over 10 years of experience as an Investor-Operator in India's Retail and Aviation industries. Poornima built and operated a mega-scale vertically integrated retail business with distribution in over 50 cities in India and exports to 7 countries. She has extensive experience in India's consumer markets across large-scale manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and retail distribution. Additionally, Poornima has extensive experience in Indian aviation, having set up two premier regional airline businesses.
Poornima combines her in-depth knowledge of Complex Financial transactions with an extensive understanding of Operations in Indian consumer retail, manufacturing, distribution and infrastructure to identify investment opportunities in high-quality businesses.
Poornima holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, where she was a Joseph Wharton Scholar, a Master's degree in Operational Research from The London School of Economics, and a BSc. in Mathematics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University.
Taponeel Mukherjee
Principal & Co-Founder
Taponeel has over 7 years of Investment Banking experience with Citigroup and UBS in London, Zurich and Tokyo. He was the Vice President of the Fixed Income Division at Citigroup in Tokyo. He invested and traded billions of dollars in structured credit derivatives, loans, interest rate derivatives, foreign exchange, and asset-liability products.
Taponeel has over 8 years of experience in India as an adviser and investor in Tactical Opportunities across India's technology, real estate, retail, healthcare, infrastructure and financial services sectors. He made investments through both the public and private markets. His work involved the entire spectrum of in-depth sector analysis, operating companies and real estate development.
Taponeel focuses on combining his knowledge of complex capital structure plays using balance sheets with Strategy & Operations in generating market-beating returns using both Real Assets and Financial Assets.
Taponeel received an MBA in Finance from INSEAD, a Master's degree in Finance and Economics from The London School of Economics, and a B.A in Economics from Northwestern University.
